One of the perks of running my Gell Plate Printing facebook group, ‘Gelli Print Fun‘ is that I am constantly discovering new ways to use the gelli plate, learning from the fabulous members.
First, there was the ‘one pull gelli print technique’ shared by Joke Overvliet-Kranenburg, which I have just started to explore myself. Then there’s the palette knife gelli print technique more recently introduced by Sue Traviss…wow!
You can see my demonstration of these techniques in the short videos below.
I am always on the look out for, and constantly inspired by other gelli plate printing masters.
Recently Birgit Koopsen demonstrated a technique using baby powder, that I felt would work for my Christmas Card project this year. The video below shares my results using a candle themed template cut from tyvek.
I also have 2 more new (to me) techniques on video which I will share with you soon!
Which technique do you like best, or what is YOUR favorite way to use the gelli plate?
Please let me know by commenting below, or come and join the chat in the group and share with everyone.
Happy gelli plate printing!

Thank you Betsy, yes, it is a busy time of year, I hope all is well with your family, there will be more time to create after the holidays!
I love the palette knife process! Very cool results!
Thanks so much, Lindsay!
I loved all three techniques , as all three can be used for different projects depending on what you want to achieve.
Thank you for sharing, I shall certainly try them all .
Thank you, Eva, yes! All three are wonderful for different projects. I just used some collage papers from the palette knife process to finish off a painting and it worked wonderfully! I’m glad you are finding this information valuable!
